The Taita Carnaval is a traditional celebration in the provinces of Azuay and Cañar, located in the Andean region of Ecuador. The Taita Carnaval is a unique festivity that establishes a reciprocal relationship between the Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) and the divinities of the Andean worldview. During this celebration, indigenous people wear colorful costumes and express gratitude for agricultural production. The Taita Carnaval takes place between February 21 and 25 in various locations in the provinces of Azuay and Cañar.
